Executive Director, David Whitelock
Coming from the UK, Glaswegian David’s past roles include leading on the festivals and events portfolio of the cities of Bristol and Exeter. Exeter being the home to one of the world’s largest rock acts; Coldplay. Bristol is home to the likes of Portishead, Massive Attack, Cary Grant and the renowned international artist Banksy.
With 15 years experience in content development, operational management, event logistics, fund-raising and marketing David aims to bring some diverse talent from all over the world whilst growing the local cultural offer of Wood Buffalo.
General Manager, Pavlina Vaverka
Pavlina has been with Events Wood Buffalo as the General manager since September 2009.
Pavlina is a recent graduate of the 2010/2011 Leadership Wood Buffalo program. Her passion for health and wellness led her to teaching Shifting to Wellness courses at the Syncrude Sport and Wellness Centre.
In her spare time Pavlina enjoys spending time with her family and friends. She has a passion for horses and dressage.
Production Manager, Daniel Sauer
Daniel moved to Fort McMurray in January 2006. He is a former Keyano Theatre Technician and is happy to be the Production Manager of Events Wood Buffalo.
Daniel is no stranger to the Fort McMurray interPLAY Society. In previous years he has served as a technician, assistant technical director and technical director for the annual interPLAY Festival.
The great outdoors is where Daniel can be found when he has time off.
Marketing & Communications Manager, Brea Burton
An Alberta girl, Brea is originally from Edmonton but has spent the last decade living and working in Calgary in the media industry, before trying Fort McMurray on for size.
Brea brings to Events Wood Buffalo her passion and enthusiasm for all diversities of art and culture. When she’s not working you can find her playing hockey on a rink somewhere, or hunched over a notebook writing poetry.
